OCTOBER 2009

The BP Award has moved to Southampton City Art Gallery from 01 October – 22 November 2009 and naturally John Westwood's portrait has moved with it.

John is famous in the footy fraternity for his anti-Southampton songs which reflect historic rivallry between the two clubs. Understandably, the gallery - not to mention m'good self - is nervous of someone using the painting to make an anti-John statement. A portrait about identity has now adopted the wider issues of tribalism, which the local media have picked up on.

The exhibition moves the Dean Gallery, Edinburgh, from 12 December 2009 – 21 February 2010.
